EP-160309602Back in December one of our amazing cafeteria managers, Suellen Smith received one of the highest awards from the School Nutrition Foundation (SNF). She was recently presented with the School Nutrition Hero award on February 29th at the SNF Legislative Action Conference held in Washington, D.C. This award is given to School Nutrition Association (SNA) members who “have made a difference in the lives
of students and coworkers, and improve the community”. She was also awarded with the Community Humanitarian Award last May in Daytona by the Florida School Nutrition Association.

Suellen has made an astounding impact at her school and for the district as a whole in the 27 years that she’s worked for Pasco County Schools. For the past 16 years she has been AR-160309602going above and beyond just feeding her students. Not only does she serve as an adviser for various clubs and activities throughout the school such as Relay for Life, but she even goes as far as putting clothes on the backs of the students in need of formalwear for events. She serves as an outlet and mentor for a lot of students and helps them have a successful four years. From helping them fill out scholarship applications to donating food, supplies and other necessities to needy students – Suellen happily does it all.
