Happy Wellness Wednesday! With the first two weeks of school behind us, now is the time to start planning for your schools first Healthy School Team meeting! As a reminder, in order to be in compliance with The Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010 every school is required to have an active Healthy School Team. According to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Sciences, the main goal of the Healthy School Team is to support the healthy advancements already being made within schools. This includes tasks such as monitoring your schools fundraisers throughout the year by making sure they are compliant with the new law and even offering ideas on non-food based incentives/rewards. Another great thing about the Healthy School Team is that it can be combined with your Student Advisory Council (SAC) meetings. We have numerous resources available that go into greater detail regarding Healthy School Teams. Please visit the Healthy School Team Resources tab to see all of the information you need regarding your Healthy School Team. New resources and information is continuously added so stay tuned!
