According to a 2015 study conducted by the Produce for Better Health Foundation the average American only consumes 43% of the recommended fruit and 57% of the recommended vegetables each day. It is recommended by the USDA that we fill half of our plate with fruits and vegetables during each meal. In terms of measurement, adults should be consuming between 4-5 cups of vegetables per day. For children, it becomes a bit more complex. They also help reduce the risk of developing various diseases such as high blood pressure and heart disease! This month our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pinterest.com\/PCSWellness\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pinterest <\/a>will feature a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pinterest.com\/PCSWellness\/june-is-national-fresh-fruit-vegetable-month\/\" target=\"_blank\"> board dedicated to celebrating National Fresh Fruit &amp; Vegetable Month<\/a>.
