Students all throughout Pasco County celebrated National School Breakfast Week by “Waking Up to School Breakfast” at their cafeterias. National School Breakfast Week took place from March 7-11 and was launched in 1989 by the School Nutrition Association to promote how essential eating breakfast is to cognitive growth! This year, schools participated by incorporating a fun and unique theme into each morning to get the students involved and excited about eating breakfast. Most schools chose to do daily raffles to give away prizes to the students who participated in breakfast throughout the week. Prizes ranged from pillow pets and selfie sticks to Legoland tickets and prom tickets! All schools who participated in National School Breakfast Week saw an increase in breakfast participation compared to the same week last year!

Below are some pictures of how our students were “Waking Up to School Breakfast” throughout the county! Check out our Facebook and Pinterest pages for more images and information about what’s going on in our cafeterias!
